In March 2009, the G-20 Forum brought together important industrial and emerging-market countries from all regions of the world. Together, these member countries represent about 90% of global gross national product, 80% of world trade (including EU intra-trade) as well as two-thirds of the world’s population.

China heads G20 on GDP

China, as one of the most influential countries, is forecast to maintain its growth target of about 8% for this year despite the global financial crisis, and is likely to recover from the crisis before other major economies. Growth momentum of China’s economy remains strong and the country has the advantage of owning a vast and cheap labor force, and by itself it is already a vast consumer market.

It should be noted that China aims to press forward its plans for industrial restructuring at the same time to maintain growth, and also emphasizes technological innovation, energy conservation and environmental protection.

All of the above factors support the continuous growth of the coatings industry in China.

All eyes on CHINACOAT 2009 in Shanghai

CHINACOAT this year is scheduled to be held on November 18-20 in the Shanghai New International Expo Centr (SNIEC). The show, organized by Hong-Kong-based Sinostar International, promises to be an important global coatings event. With 660+ exhibitors from 26 countries/regions and over 24,000 anticipated visitors, as well as the whole series of supporting technology exchange programs, CHINACOAT 2009 will be an eye-catching annual event for the paint and coatings industry this year.
